Abena Koomson
Saturday, July 12, 2008, 8:00 pm Club B-10 $14 in advance/ $18 day of show
Slam poetess and soul singer Abena Komson unleashes a heavy dose of acappella funk (Listen now!) -- calling it a one woman show is misleading, because she inevitably inspires audiences to get out of their seats to sing and clap along. In verse and song, this Brooklynite of African extraction "unites her ancestral worlds of Ghana and America." (New York Times) Galleries open until 7 PM.
Come early: Lickety Split serves dinner, snacks, and ice cream before and during the show or visit Café Latino on the MASS MoCA campus. There are also many great restaurants in North Adams that are within walking distance of the campus.
