“Liberty and Justice for All” Rally

 

WHAT:  RALLY FOR IMMIGRANTS RIGHTS 

WHEN:  May 1, Thursday, 4 PM

WHERE: City Hall Plaza in Manchester, NH

MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE --- Supporters of immigrants’ rights will gather for a “Liberty and Justice For All” rally at Manchester’s City Hall Plaza, at 4 PM on Thursday, May 1, 2008.

“It’s time to end the workplace raids and deportations which are destroying families,” said Eva Castillo, of the NH Alliance for Immigrants and Refugees, the rally’s prime sponsor, in a press statement.  “It’s time for equal access to health and education, and for the rights of all workers to be protected, regardless of where they were born.”

Speakers at the rally will include:
Brenda Lett, President of the Greater Manchester NAACP;
The Rev. Joseph Gurdack, of St. Augustin Church in Manchester;
Carlos Gonzalez, a former Manchester State Representative;
Alejandro Urrutia, of the NH Alliance for Immigrants and Refugees;
Margarita Fernandez-Letkowsky, of the Mexican Association of New Hampshire;
Emina Zlotrg, Youth Organizer for the American Friends Service Committee; and
Gus Moral, of Vision Hispana and Vote Now New Hampshire Hispanics.
Eva Castillo and Roberto Bolaños will emcee the rally.
